Variyali/Saunf Sarbat is a very famous sarbat in Gujarat. Variyali is used a lot in Indian kitchen. It is also used as a tempering in many dishes. Variyali is used very commonly as mouth fresheners or after meal snack. Even we can make juice of Variyali. The juice of variyali is great to drink during the high temperatures of summer. At my home its made everyday in summers for the whole family. Fennel seeds are grinded in a juicer with sugar, strained to make juice. I even add dry black grapes to the variyali sarbat because they also have a great cooling factor to the body. So lets proceed step by step.
Take a bowl of variyali/fennel seeds.
In a grinder grind the variyali to a fine powder. I always prefer to make Variyali powder more and store it in a air tight container and use it as required.
Now take 3 tablespoon of variyali powder and soak it in four glasses of water for 3-4 hours. And even soak the black grapes in water separately.
Strain the variyali water add sugar and lime juice.
Variyali Sarbat is ready. Add ice cubes and black grapes. Serve Chilled.

INSTRUCTIONS
- Take a bowl of variyali/fennel seeds and grind the it to a fine powder.
- Now take 3 tablespoon of variyali powder and soak it in four glasses of water for 3-4 hours.
- Even soak the black grapes in water separately.
Strain the variyali water add sugar and lime juice.
- Variyali Sarbat is ready. Add ice cubes and black grapes. Serve Chilled.
