Khajur Balls
Khajur/Dates balls a rich and nutty Indian sweet.

It is said that eating khajur/dates during winters is really good. Because Khajur are warm in nature. Dates are very beneficial to the body. One of the most important benefit is its rich in iron. I had made these Dates Ladoos for my son who has very low iron level. You can check the benefits of Dates here.

Khajur ladoo is a sugar free Indian sweet recipe. A perfect combination of dates and dry fruits blended with ghee/clarified butter.

It is also my 100th recipe, so a famous hindi saying. Kuch meetha to banta hai.  Its a milestone in my blogging stage. Was a little difficult to reach here as i have a super active 1.5 year old boy. But still made it till here.

So lets proceed step by step for making khajur/dates balls

Ingredients we require for making khajur balls are khajur, ghee, dry fruit and desiccated coconut.

Take khajur pin it into half and remove its seeds.

Add half (50 grams) ghee in batches to the seedless dates and beat it with a pestle. You can even grind the khajur coarsely in a grinder.

Do not add all the ghee at once. Slowly keep adding ghee and beating with a pestle. This will make the khajur smooth in texture.

Now heat rest half (50 grams) ghee in a pan

Add the smooth and beaten khajur and mix well so all the khajur is well coated with ghee

Now add some chopped dry fruits

Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minnutes

When the mixture is warm roll them into small ball shape.

Roll the khajur ladoos in some desiccated coconut.

Winter special Khajur/Dates balls are ready. Cool the Khajur Ladoos and store them in air tight containers.
