Recipe of Pasta in White Sauce | How to make Pasta in White Sauce

Unknown | Saturday, May 10, 2014 |
Pasta is one of world's most popular dishes as it is so easy to cook and great at taste. It is a traditional Italian Cuisine and can be cooked in many different ways. I have made Penne Arrabiata countless number of times and it has become a favourite family recipe. However I always fancied and wanted to try my Pasta in White Sauce. I have learned this particular recipe of Pasta in White Sauce from my very good friend Shreya with whom I have cooked many great dishes. This post of Penne Pasta in White Sauce is dedicated to Shreya. I am sure all of you will find this recipe interesting and would like to try it at home. So lets proceed step by step.

To make our Pasta in White Sauce boil about 125 grams (approximately 1/4th Packet) of Penne for about 15 minutes on medium-high flame. The standard boiling time for pasta is 12-13 minutes however I like my Pasta fluffy so I always boil for a couple of extra minutes. Its completely up to you. Alongside also boil some granted corn, French beans, carrots and green peas for about 10 minutes. These are the vegetables that I prefer however you can add any vegetable you prefer like broccoli, mushrooms as well as colourful bell peppers.

To prepare the sauce heat some butter and olive oil in a pan and add chopped onions. Using olive oil with butter prevents the butter from burning. Cook the onions for about 5 minutes in low flame and add some finely chopped garlic. Now add about 1 tablespoon of maida (plain flour) and sauté it for about 5 minutes.

Now add milk, pepper powder, salt and pasta mix. Cook on low flame for about 5 minutes till the sauce thickens. Keep stirring with a spoon to avoid lumps. White Sauce is ready. Add the boiled vegetables to the sauce.

Toss the vegetables in the sauce for about 2 minutes and add the boiled pasta.

Cook the pasta in the sauce for another 2 minutes. If the sauce thickens too much you can add a little more milk. Now sprinkle some grated cheese on the pasta.

Mix well. Pasta in White Sauce is ready.

Serve with apple juice or white wine :)
