Recipe Of Penne Arrabiata | How To Make Pasta In Red Sauce

The main reason for Pasta being so famous is its a low fat food and tasty also. There are many types of pasta available in market like spaghetti, bow tie, macaroni etc. But my personal favourite is Penne be it in red sauce or white sauce. Its a very famous and easy Italian dish. This recipe of Pasta Arrabiata is so easy that any amateur cook can make it effortlessly. The sauce is made of onions garlic and tomatoes and pasta are tossed in the red and yummy sauce. Children's especially love it. It is served hot with garlic bread and wine/juice. So lets proceed step by step.


 

In a large vessel boil water and add 2 cups of pasta and cook it thoroughly with 1/2 table spoon of olive oil till they are soft and tender. After the pasta's are boiled drain the water out and keep it aside. Using some olive oil while boiling the pasta instils the flavour inside the pasta.
 
For the sauce take a deep bottom pan heat 3 table spoon of extra virgin olive oil and add chopped onion.
 
After the onions are golden brown add finely chopped garlic cloves and chopped green chillies and cook for 2-3 minutes.
 
Now add 2 large ripe tomatoes and cook it on low flame till the tomatoes become tender.
 
After the tomatoes are cooked add red chilli powder, salt, black pepper powder and pasta mix. Mix all the ingredients well and allow it cook for 2 minutes.
 
Now add the boiled pasta to gravy and toss it well. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.
 
 Pasta Arrabiata is ready. Serve hot with red wine or apple juice and some garlic breads.
 


 
RECIPE OF PENNE ARRABIATA
Penne pasta tossed in tomato, onion and garlic sauce with herbs and spices.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups Penne Pasta
  • 3.5 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 Ripe Tomatoes
  • 1/2 tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon pepper powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon Pasta Mix
  • Salt to Taste
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a large vessel boil water and add the pasta.
  2. Add 1/2 tablespoon olive oil and cook for 15 minutes till the pasta becomes soft and tender.
  3. After the pasta are boiled drain all the water and keep aside.
  4. For the sauce take a deep bottom pan heat 3 table spoon of extra virgin olive oil and add chopped onion.
  5. After the onions are golden brown add finely chopped garlic cloves and chopped green chillies and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Now add the tomatoes and cook on low flame till they become tender.
  7. After the tomatoes are cooked add red chilli powder, salt, black pepper powder and pasta mix.
  8. Mix all the ingredients well and allow it cook for 2 minutes.
  9. Now add the boiled pasta to gravy and toss it well. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.

Tips:
1.Remember authenticate Italian pasta can never be made without olive oil. Always use extra virgin olive oil to give a great flavour to your dish.
2.Pasta mix is easily available in market or you can use chilli flakes and oregano. Pasta mix generally contains all ingredient like basil, oregano that gives good flavour to the pasta.
3.I have also used 2-3 table spoon of ready made Pasta Arrabiata sauce available in market. It will increase the authenticity of dish. This is completely optional.
4.Though I have used penne pasta in my dish you can replace it with any pasta you like.
5. You can also use shredded cheese as a dressing
