Recipe Of Aloo Paratha | How to make Stuffed Paratha

Aloo Parathas is extremely popular with North Indians. The moment you think about a Sunday heavy breakfast the first thing coming to your mind is Aloo Parathas. As potatoes are everybody's favourite there is no second thought. The stuffing of the Parathas is with boiled potatoes with all the Indian spices which makes the Parathas tasty. You can adjust the stuffing according to your taste. Hot Parathas are served topped with butter, chilled curd, your favourite pickle and chutney's. So lets proceed step by step.

Take 2 cups of wheat flour in a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of oil and little salt. Mix well and add water to knead it to a soft dough. Rest it for about 20 minutes.
 
Boil the potatoes in pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles. Let the potatoes cool and peel them. Potatoes should be cooked properly so that it can be mashed easily without any lumps.
 
 Mash the potatoes, add all the masalas for stuffing and mix well.
 
 Stuffing is ready
 
For making the Parathas take the kneaded dough and make equal portions of small balls. Take each equal portion and make a flat bread like chapatis and fill it with stuffing and then bring together the edges.
 
Roll the stuffed balls into a flat Paratha without applying much pressure

Fry the Paratha on both the sides in a non-stick pan with oil/ghee. 
 

Serve the Aloo Paratha hot with Green Chutney, Spicy Peanuts Chutney, Curd or Mango Pickle.










 








 
RECIPE OF ALOO PARATHA
Potatoes boiled and mashed mixed with indian spices and stuffed into indian flat bread Paratha.

INGREDIENTS
    For the Stuffing
  • 5-6 Potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon finely cut ginger and green chillies
  • 1/2 tablespoon Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • Salt to Taste
  • For the Dough
  • 2 cups Wheat Flour
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 cup Oil for shallow frying paratha


INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a bowl sieve wheat flour and add salt & oil to it.
  2. Now by adding water knead it to a soft dough.
  3. Grease the dough with oil and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
